Marlo Zamora
My name is Marlo Zamora, and I am an incoming senior at Trinity University, majoring in computer science. I am a proud recipient of the Hannon-Fields Scholarship, generously supported by Texas Mutual, which has supported my academic journey throughout my time at Trinity.
During my time at Trinity, I have balanced academics, athletics, and leadership. I competed as a member of the collegiate women’s golf team for two years, achieving top-five finishes in half of the tournaments I played. I am also actively involved in Trinity Women in Computer Science (TUWIC), where I serve as Vice President, helping foster community and support for women in the field. Additionally, I compete on the club Ultimate Frisbee team.
This past semester, I studied abroad at Trinity College Dublin, where I gained a global perspective through cultural immersion and travel across Ireland, Morocco, and Scotland. This experience strengthened my adaptability, independence, and appreciation for diverse perspectives.
Beyond campus, I am passionate about service and mentorship through my work with First Tee. As a software engineering intern at John Deere, I led the implementation of “ParTake,” a networking and golf clinic designed to empower women through sport and professional connection. Originally created by Carrie Kimbell of First Tee San Antonio, I expanded the initiative by bringing it to Moline, Illinois, where I secured corporate sponsorship, partnered with
the Quad Cities First Tee for coaching and equipment, and facilitated a $2,000 donation to support youth programming.
Driven by a passion for technology and a commitment to using it for positive impact, I aspire to build a career in computer science where I can develop meaningful solutions and expand opportunities for others.
